I need an affordable laywer or mediator to get divorced in San Diego California?
Hi. I am a 24 year old male, currently stationed in korea. I want to divorce my wife. We been married for 3 years and have a 1 year old son. I have talked to some lawyers all ready, so I understand that I can’t get any custody due to being far away. What I need help with, is finding an affordable lawyer. Me and my wife all ready have came into an agreement on who takes care of what bills, who takes what furniture and etc. So I really need help with this. If you guys can please give me any helpful advice on this matter, or names of affordable attorneys or mediators, I would surely appreciate it. Thank you.
Before you proceed, I’d recommend reading the guide below. If you have few assets and you are flexible on child custody then the costs of the divorce will lower. Remember its not the lawyer’s hourly rate that is the issue it’s the attorney’s total cost of the divorce process from start to finish. What I suggest is contact 10 attorneys and ask them them; how many cases and win ratio, the hourly rate and the likely total costs of the divorce including each phase. If they cannot give you that or will only quote and hourly billing rate then move on to the next one.
