How do can I hold the breeders of my puppy, who I just had put to sleep, held responsible for his death?
Bought my 6 wk old pup Sun & was fine all day. Early Mon got sick & had a little diahrrea. Took him to the vet & doc ran a fecal test, found nothing. She suggested a parvo test but I waited. I wanted to see if it was just nerves. He didn’t get better & had a parvo test on Tues. It came up positive. We’re devastated didn’t think we could afford treatment. called the breeders to get our money back.The awful ppl said they could get us for neglect for not takin him to the vet when he vomited, other dogs of mine got motion sickness and I thought that’s what it was. Suggested he had coccidia & my stupid self signed a contract letting them give me treatment for coccidia. They never once stated the lemon law and were basically refusing to give my money back. I was just trying to do the best thing for my puppy. Didn’t get better. Started parvo treatment with help from family who paid. Treated for 4 days. Didn’t get better. Put him down today. Are we screwed? Can they get away w/this?
Just an FYI any breeder who lets you get a pup at that young of an age is not a responsible breeder. You will have to get a lawyer but you might still lose. I am sorry for your lose but next time do not get a puppy until they are at least 8 weeks old.
